A fluoroquinolone is a synthetic broad-spectrum antibiotic usually prescribed when other antibiotics have failed to work. These antibiotics include Cipro (ciprofloxacin), Levaquin (levofloxacin), Avelox (moxifloxacin), and other similar medications. This family of antibiotics can have some minor to serious adverse side effects such as hypotension, diarrhea, seizures or hallucinations. Therefore, it is extremely important to observe how you feel while on this medication and report any unusual changes!
