  1. Are you concerned about the high maganese level of the low amylose, raw, diet high in leafy greens, nuts, and legumes which are all maganese rich foods?

    • First, we would like to say thank you for taking the time to read our blog!

      In reply to your question, Dr. Bhakta is not concerned with manganese levels in her recommended diet. Her only concern would only be towards supplementation high in manganese. Hope that answers your question!

      • Good news regarding no dietary changes, thank you.

        Is there a maximum maganese daily allowance you recommend following regarding supplements or protein shakes? The RDA seems to be 2 mg. per day. A two scoop serving of Ultra Meal Rice does not list an RDA, only 100% of the “Percent Daily Values based on a 2,000 calorie diet.” Would taking a multivitamin with the RDA of maganese along with the Ultra Meal shake concern you?

      • Hi Patricia,

        Dr. Bhakta recommends to only take between 2mg-4mg of manganese a day. The manganese in the multivitamin and only one 2 scoop serving a day should be the maximum!
